Govt employees? salaries, pensions raised by 10pc
 Minimum wage of labourers set at Rs15,000 per month ISLAMABAD: The government has given an ad hoc relief of 10 percent in the salaries of government employees besides merging ad hoc relief allowances of 50 percent given in the year 2010 for civilian and 100 percent for military and raise of 10 percent has been given in thepensions of the retired government employees that include civil and military. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while presenting the budget in the National Assembly stated that in the budget speech of FY 2016-17 three allowances were merged. However, he said, the 2008 ad hoc relief allowance to the Army and the 2010 ad hoc relief allowance for the civilians was **t merged and there has been a consistent demand to merge these allowance. “I am pleased to an**unce that it has been decided to give a 10 percent ad hoc relief allowance on the merged salary to all civil and armed forces employees. For armed forces, Raddul fasaad allowance, that I have already discussed, would be in addition to this,” he added. On the pattern of increase in the pay of government employees, the minimum wage of labourers for their benefit is being increased from Rs14,000 to Rs15, 000 per month. According to the finance minister, up to BPS-5 employees are being exempted from paying house-rent charges at the rate of 5 percent, daily allowance -- domestic -- is being increased by 60 percent, orderly allowance is being revised from Rs12,000 to Rs14,000, rate for transportation of dead bodies and local burial are being revised from Rs1,600 to Rs4,800 and Rs5,000 from Rs15,000 respectively. The constant attendant allowance admissible to armed forces and CAF is being increased from Rs3,000 to Rs7,000. Different allowances for ******s and sailors of Pakistan Navy are being revised including; hard-lying pay, compensation for batman, uniform allowance and ration allowance and design allowance is being increased by 50 percent. For employees of Pakistan Post, certain rates of allowances are being revised. The Jawans of Frontier Constabulary are performing their duties all over Pakistan and in order to make their salary structure attractive it had been decided to allow them a Rs8,000 per month fixed allowance. One-third of that allowance has been allowed w.e.f 1st March, 2017, the one-third of it will be allowed from 1st July, 2017 and the balance one-third from 1st July, 2018.
