افتراضي Sindh govt has discretion to remove IGP: Khursheed

Sindh govt discretion remove IGP: SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said that the provincial government enjoys the power to remove Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He also termed MQM’s white paper on the lack of performance of Sindh government during its nine-year rule akin to showing lamp to the sun. Talking to media here, Khursheed lashed out at the Punjab government saying that chief minister Shahbaz Sharif talked about poor but did **thing. “Shahbaz sees the garbage in Karachi but is blind to poverty in southern Punjab,” he said.

Lashing out at MQM, Khursheed Shah said that MQM wallahs even torched factories for extortion and its people had been involved in money laundering and many of them had run away from the country while some others had become billionaires.

Replying to a question about cheating during matric examinations, Khursheed said that an educational emergency should be imposed all across the country to check the menace and that same centre should be established for both first and second year examinations. – INP

Sabah adds: Syed Khursheed Shah said it was **t k**wn why PanamaLeaks case verdict was **t issued. He said that verdicts were an**unced immediately on the petitions of higher authorities but Panama was still facing delay.

He said PPP had saved democracy and Parliament in past and would repeat the same in future. He said government and people were equally responsible over the garbage issue in Karachi. Shah said, “We make big claims when we are in opposition but become silent after coming into power.”

While talking about the general elections he said, “We accepted Nawaz Sharif as prime minister despite having reservations and saved democracy during protests and sit-ins. However, if the same situation persists in 2018 elections PPP will **t back out but will contest the polls.”

Khurshid Shah said Nawaz Sharif had talked about toppling the Benazir Bhutto’s government while taking 50 million from Osama bin Laden in 1989. He blamed PML-N for pressurising them through their accomplices in 2013 elections.

Shah asserted that Sindh needs 60,000 trained teachers whereas 70 percent of schools in villages are **t getting basic education. The opposition leader asked the Sindh government to ban polythene bags in the province because it pollutes the environment.
