Mohammad Shoaib, Deputy director at the Workers Welfare Board, lodged a written complaint with the Mathra Police Station that he along with other ******rs was attending a meeting at the ****** of director administration when his senior Niamatullah entered the room and started abusing him.
The complainant said the official then loaded his pistol and attempted to kill him. He added that those present in the ****** intervened and stopped the accused from firing at him.
Shoaib added that Niamatullah was angry because he had lodged a complaint against him to the senior officials of their department and also to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He demanded action against the accused under the law. The police said a case has been registered.
The Workers Welfare Board has been in the news in recent months due to the arrest of some of its officials on corruption charges and also on account of strikes by its employees demanding timely payment of salaries and reinstatement of their services.
