Rangers, Corps Commander send Eid greetings to Farooq Sattar
KARACHI: A top official of the paramilitary force called on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar at a private hospital on Monday, a day after latter suffered injuries in a traffic accident on Super Highway late Sunday night.
A spokesman for the Rangers said Brigadier Khurram Shehzad visited the hospital where he prayed for the speedy recovery of Farooq Sattar and conveyed well wishes on behalf of DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar and Karachi Corps Commander Lt General Navid Mukhtar. The spokesman said the Brigadier also conveyed Eid greetings to the politician on behalf of DG Rangers and Corps Commander. Sattar is recuperating from wounds that he received in the accident that also left his security guards injured. Liaquat Baloch, a central leader of MQM's political nemesis Jamaat-e-Islami also inquired after Farooq Sattar's health by telephone. The senior politician has become defacto chief of the MQM after party supremo Altaf Hussain delivered a speech against Pakistan and provoked his followers to launch attack on media on August 22. The MQM has faced a *****down after its workers indulged in violence last month, withe hundreds of party ******s sealed and dozens other demolished by the provincial authorities.
