ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Friday that the Raiwind march and Sit-in would be staged at all costs before the month of Muharram. However, he maintained there would be ** gherao and reiterated a change of date was possible.
Talking to media persons here, Imran asserted that the city and its roads would be blocked if the rulers tried to impede the march using the Punjab Police. “We will **t enter anyone’s residence,” he maintained. He alleged that all the democratic institutions had been controlled by the incumbent government and asked as to which state institution was working independently. “You tell me, is NAB or FBR doing well? Are the Punjab Police and FIA functioning better?” he asked. The PTI chairman pointed out that the NA Speaker had sent a reference against him to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) but withheld those against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with regard to his children’s offshore companies reflected in the Panama Papers. He alleged the NA speaker was **t impartial. The state institutions, he continued, were **t functioning as they were supposed to and claimed the parliamentary standing committees had been given instructions **t to discuss the PanamaLeaks during their deliberations. “Tell me about a single democratic institution that is working independently during their democratic rule,” he asked. The PTI chief charged they (rulers) had weakened democracy instead of strengthening it. He billed the ruling PML-N a fascist party, which was nurtured during the dictatorial regime.Imran wondered if there was any difference between Musharraf’s dictatorship and their democracy and asked had the rulers given sovereignty to the democratic institutions. “The exit of Musharraf and coming into power of Nawaz Sharif is ** democracy,” he maintained. He contended that democracy faced threats whenever there was talk about the rulers corruption and electoral rigging.Replying to questions, he said that so far all the opposition parties were united and they would try to keep them united till end. Imran vowed to have a solo flight if he had to go against the menace of corruption. “If they are hurling threats at us it means they are concerned,” he said while referring to some PML-N leaders’ an**uncement of marching towards Banigala, Imran’s residence, if he led a march to Raiwind. The PTI chairman said the final date of the march would be an**unced within two-three days. Earlier, he had an**unced to march on Raiwind on September 24. He said the date of the proposed march could be changed, if the opposition parties so desired and claimed the Raiwind march would be a historic protest and the entire Pakistan was being called to be part of it. The PTI chairman maintained that the rulers were trying to hide their corruption by filing references against those who were pushing for an investigation into the PanamaLeaks.“If we are stopped from practising our democratic right of protest, it will have serious consequences such as shutdown of the entire city,” Imran cautioned. Imran said the PanamaLeaks was the biggest scandal but the NAB remained unmoved and did **t take it up for investigation and action. He reiterated his resolve to take this issue to its logical end. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Sit-in must be staged but **t gherao, says Imran || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
