Khattak condemns Mardan suicide attack
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday condemned the act of terrorism in Mardan and said the nation was united against terrorism. “We have succeeded in our struggle and it will continue till the total elimination of terrorism,” he said while talking to the media after enquiring after those injured in the suicide attack at the district courts of Mardan.
He visited the Mardan Medical Complex along with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. He also accompanied Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to the District Headquarters Hospital in Mardan. The chief minister, along with Imran Khan, also visited the District Kutchehry Mardan, met the lawyers community and expressed sympathies with them. Provincial Ministers Muhammad Atif Khan, Shahram Khan Tarakai and MPAs were also present there. Talking to the media, the chief minister said the people and police fully supported the elimination of terrorism. “The security forces, police and the people are on the same page for the establishment of peace and elimination of terrorism from the country,” he added. The chief minister praised the performance of the police and security forces for foiling the possible incident of terrorism in Peshawar. Pervez Khattak, along with the army chief and provincial ministers, offered Namaz-e-Janaza of policemen who lost their lives in the act of terrorism in Mardan.
