‘19 canals to be paved in Pakpattan’

PAKPATTAN: PML-N MNA Sardar Munsib Ali Dogar has said that the Punjab government has sanctioned to pave 19 canals in PAKPATTAN district.

Talking to journalists here on Friday, the MNA said that the Punjab government was striving for making progress in agriculture sector and the step would benefit farmers of PAKPATTAN district. He said that Rs 650 million would be spend on paving small canals in NA-165. Likewise, Rs 140 million would be spend on Dhappi Malka Hans Canal, Rs 230 million on **orpur Canal, Rs 120 million on Bahamani Sohag Canal, Rs 150 million on Chak Safi Canal and Rs 10 million would be spend on paving Chak Shafi Small Canal, he added.

5 BOOKED FOR BEATING FARMER: Police on Friday booked five people for allegedly beating a farmer at Chak Huma Maharka.

Alam Din was busy working in his field when accused including Nadeem came and allegedly beat him and threatened him of dire consequences.

2 FRAUDSTERS BOOKED: Police on Friday booked two fraudsters in separate incidents here.

Accused Raheel gave a fake cheque of Rs 220,000 to Shaukat Ali of Arifwala, which was bounced by the concerned bank. Accused Aslam gave a bogus cheque of Rs 500,000 to Sajjad Ahmad of ***** Market, which was bounced by the bank.

RAPE BID FOILED: A rape bid was foiled at Chak 145-EB on Friday.

The daughter of Maryam Bibi was on her way when accused Shahid caught her and took her to his house when he allegedly tried to rape her. On her hue and cry, the accused fled. Police have registered a case.

2 BOOKED: Police on Friday booked two people on the charge of helping two proclaimed offenders to flee in separate incidents here.

On a tip-off, the police raided at Chak 95-EB to arrest PO Falk Sher but accused Rizwan allegedly helped him to flee. The police raided at Chak 113-EB to arrest PO Muhammad Ramzan but accused Muhammad Iqbal allegedly helped him to escape.

VALUABLES LOOTED: Two dacoity incidents were reported here on Friday.

Five dacoits entered the house of Ahmad at Chak 8-KB and looted gold ornaments, cash and a water pump. Four thieves stole gold ornaments and cash from the house of Maqsood at Chak 71-EB. Police have registered cases.
