Councillors head home as polls delayed From Our Correspondent TOBA TEK SINGH: Most of councillors of municipal committees of the district returned homes on Wednesday night or Thursday after the postponement of elections for reserved seats. Reportedly, they were taken to Murree or other **rthern areas by their groups to keep them away from pressure of opponent groups. They were required to come directly to the TMA halls to cast their votes on September 2, the polling day, but as a result of the Lahore High Court’s order issued on Monday under which the Election Commission of Pakistan had been directed to issue a new election schedule for the reserved seats. **w their groups allowed them to go to their homes. COMPLETION OF LAND RECORD: Additional District Collector Zeeshan Shabbir Rana Thursday directed Pirmahal land record centre in-charge to complete computerisation of land record of all **tified villages. During his visit to the centre, he also asked him to give top priority to the verification of land record of all those farmers whose farmland had been acquired by National Highway Authority for the construction of Peshawar-Lahore-Karachi motorway so that compensation be paid to them at the earliest.
