Locals robbed of cash, valuables
From Our Correspondent PAKPATTAN: Several locals were robbed of cash and other valuables on Saturday. Three thieves entered the house of Khalid Mehmood of Chak 36/SP and took away valuables. When his aunt raised a hue and cry, the thieves tortured her. Three thieves entered the house of Zahoor Ahmad of Chak 59/D and stole cash, a cell phone and other valuables. Four thieves entered the house of Muhammad Iftikhar of Chak 23/SP and took away cash and a cell phone. They also thrashed Iftikhar over putting up resistance. Accused Mazhar Jamil and his accomplices stole a motorcycle of a citizen from outside his house. RAPE BID: Two accused tried to rape a woman on Saturday. Reportedly, Hameeda Bibi of Chak 37/EB and her other family members were sleeping at their home at night when accused Jan entered the house and tried to rape the wife of her bother. He escaped when she raised a hue and cry. Police have registered a case. TWO INJURED: A man and his wife suffered injuries over an old enmity on Saturday. Reportedly, eight accused entered the house of Liaqat Ali of Chak 95/D and injured his father and mother critically. Police have registered a case. FAKE CHEQUE CASE: Police booked a man on charges of issuing a fake cheque. Accused Muhammad Afzal had gotten Rs 1,134,000 loan from Muhammad Tahir of College Road PAKPATTAN and gave him a cheque that bounced. DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Police Saturday arrested drug peddlers and recovered liquor and illegal ******* from their custody. Police arrested accused Shafique of Pir Kot, PAKPATTAN with eight litre liquor, accused Ghulam Mustafa of Sofiabad with seven litre liquor, accused Sultan of Pir Kariyanwala with four litre liquor, accused Imtiaz of Chak 100/D with a carbine, and accused Muhammad Amjad of Chak 19/EB with a pistol. Accused Mansab Ali of Chak 19/SP escaped. Police have registered cases. PROTEST RALLY: Workers and activists of the Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (district PAKPATTAN chapter) took out a rally demanding arrest of culprits involved in the Lahore Model Town tragedy. The rally was organized under Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran district ameer Syed Abu Dawood Shah Bukhari. The participants were carrying banners and placards. The participants took the rally from Nagina Chowk to Alhamra Chowk and raised slogans against the rulers. PATWARI ARRESTED: Anti-Corruption Establishment circle ******r Saturday arrested a Patwari who was received bribe. Reportedly, circle ******r Ghazanfar Tufail and a magistrate arrested Patwari Amjad when he was taking the bribe of Rs 4,000 from Abdul Shakoor of Chak 14/KB to give him the record of land.
