SC orders FIA to submit report on Polyclinic?s gas cylinders
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Friday directed the FIA director general to submit inquiry report regarding purchase of gas cylinders in Polyclinic hospital.
The court also directed the secretary Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) to submit comprehensive reports regarding provision of medicines, appointment of employees and current status of machinery in the hospital. The division bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case against alleged corruption in the Polyclinic hospital Islamabad.During the course of proceedings, CADD secretary and FIA DG appeared before the court. The court asked the CADD secretary to submit affidavit regarding provision of medicines and other healthcare facilities in hospital of the federal capital. Justice Saqib remarked that if machinery installed at government hospitals was **t working then the CADD secretary would be responsible. The court directed CADD secretary to appoint employees according to rules and referred the matter regarding purchase of costly gas in Polyclinic hospital to the FIA. The hearing of the case was adjourned for two weeks. -APP election in recent local government elections, the president impressed upon them to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and honesty.He asked them to follow Quaid-i-Azam’s motto of ‘work work and work’. He said Islamabad was one of the beautiful capitals in the world and urged the local representatives to work with missionary zeal to make it a model city for others to emulate. The president **ted that in recent years the federal capital has seen increase in its population and expansion which has raised some issues.
