Vows to clear remote pockets, sleeper cells of terrorists;
visits frontline troops along Pak-Afghan border ISLAMABAD: The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, on Friday visited the frontline troops busy in operations along the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Agency. The COAS was given a detailed briefing by operational commander on progress of operations and gains consolidated so far, the ISPR stated. Showing satisfaction over the progress of the operation, the COAS appreciated the highest state of morale and professionalism shown in fighting terrorists of various organisations hiding in the most rugged terrain. Clearance of mountain passes in Rajgal despite this being the most treacherous terrain where terrorists were entrenched on the high mountain passes to stay on both sides of the border is a manifestation of Pakistan’s commitment to check the cross-border movement and will go a long way in helping the initiative of border management.
