ISLAMABAD: Justice **orul Haq N Qureshi of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday granted post arrest bail against surety bonds worth Rs3 million to Irfanullah Khan, former project director Tawana Pakistan project (TPP) who is behind bars for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds case.
The Rs3.60 billion project was initiated in 2002 to provide nutrition to the female students of 23 less developed districts of the country. An audit report however found huge embezzlements of funds in this project beside poor quality of milk provided at the schools. Irfan Ullah Khan was arrested in February 2015 while an IHC bench on a previous occasion had dismissed his bail application. Today’s hearing Legal counsel for Irfan Ullah Khan argued before the court that his client is accused of 80 million rupees embezzlement. Out of which he has deposited 20 million rupees with NAB and he will deposit rest of 60 million as well. He requested the court to grant bail to his client.
