BAHAWALPUR: Residents of Tibi Data, **orpur Nauranga and adjoining areas on Monday tortured a youth on suspicion of kidnapping children from their areas.
The People caught a youth and severely tortured him on suspicion of kidnapping children from Tibi Data. The People refused to hand over the alleged kidnapper to police and said that they would hand him over to the Pakistan Army as they had ** confidence in the police. The People also protested against the rising kidnapping incidents and blocked the traffic on the KLP National Highway. Later, a police team led by DSP Saddar Circle Rao Jamshed Akhtar and others got the alleged kidnapper released from the protesters and shifted him to the RHC Sama Satta due to severe injuries. The DSP said that action would be taken against the protesters who violated the law by blocking the National Highway. DASKA: The family and relatives of a kidnapped boy staged a demonstration against the City police’s failure to recover the kidnapped child here on Monday. They blocked the road to register their protest against the police. The protesters were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against the police. Talking to newsmen, the family members said Marshal Maseeh was kidnapped fivedays ago and a case was registered. They claimed that they approached the police for his recovery, but the police had failed to address their issues. In the meantime, the police reached the spot and assured the protesters that they would try to recover the boy. FAISALABAD: In a**ther incident, a boy disappeared mysteriously in Samanadbad on Sunday night. Waleed of Shahkot and his uncle Muhammad Aslam were sleeping outside their house in a street. In the wee hours, Aslam went inside his house due to dust storm, leaving Waleed in the street. When the family members woke up on Monday morning, the boy was missing. After searching for Waleed, they informed the police about the incident. Later, Waleed’s relatives blocked the road for about half-an-hour to register their protest against failure of Samanabad police in tracing the missing boy. They dispersed on the DSP’s assurance that the police would try to recover the missing boy. JHANG: DPO Humayun Masood has said that all 60 children were recovered which were reportedly missing in the district from 2014 to 2016.He said this while addressing a press conference here on Monday. DSP City Tahir Khichi, SHOs of Kotwali, Sadar, City and Satellite Town police were also present during the press conference. The DPO said that 34 cases were registered regarding the missing children, however, all 60 children were recovered and handed over to their parents. Talking about the missing children in Punjab, the DPO said that police have traced 119 missing children, while 603 reached in their houses out of total 767 missing children across the province. On the directions of the IGP, police of all districts were busy tracing the remaining 45 children, he added. The DPO said that the IGP had issued directions that the People taking law in their hands and spreading fake information about kidnapping of children would be dealt with iron hands.
