World should help resolve Kashmir dispute: Gen Raheel
Urges international community to recognise Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom; condemns brutal Indian killings of Kashmiri youth; chairs corps commanders’ conference
RAWALPINDI: Condemning the brutal Indian killings of in**cent Kashmiri youth, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif reiterated that the World needed to recognise the aspirations of Kashmiri people and their struggle for freedom, and help resolve the longstanding dispute for lasting amity in Kashmir and enduring peace in the region. General Raheel was chairing the corps commanders conference at the GHQ on Wednesday.According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel stated that the international community needed to play its part in order to establish peace in the occupied valley. The conference also took an in-depth review of internal security situation and discussed professional matters. The army chief appreciated the relentless efforts of intelligence and law enforcement agencies towards ensuring peace and security during the Eid days in the face of numerous threats. The external security situation was discussed with particular emphasis on the situation in Afghanistan.
