Shoppers throng bazaars in Peshawar as situation improves
PESHAWAR: Crowds of people in bazaars for Eid shopping at evenings have proved that law and order has improved and fear of terrorism has gone.
Compared to the previous year, a large number of people, including women and children, throng the main bazaars for Eid shopping in Peshawar cantonment and city, which remained bustling with Shoppers till Sehr. The shopkeepers have also decorated shops with colourful lighting and bunting to attract customers. Almost all shopkeepers and traders have displayed required items on road outside their shops, narrowing the way for passers-by. It was astonishing to **te that the motorcyclists and motorists managed to find their way in congested narrow roads without creating much problems for each other. The district administration and traffic police have chalked out a plan to control traffic. A pleasant change was observed between the people and police officials on duty. Contrary to the previous years, the people and administration were seen cooperating with one a**ther. Shopkeepers complained that youngsters, who didn’t purchase anything, but loitered here and there that created problems for women customers. The administration and traders have jointly marked the areas to avoid any problems for customers and traders. Fahim Ahmad, a trader, recalled the horrors of terrorist attacks, bomb blasts and suicide attacks and said Peshawar had seen much bloodshed, but **w the situation had improved. The business community, that saw reversal of fortunes in the past, is doing their business in a pleasant atmosphere and wished a better future for the country and its dwellers.
