Widow of Customs IO becomes party in Ayyan case

ISLAMABAD: The Widow of murdered Customs Inspector Ijaz Chaudhry on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court to become a party in the model Ayyan Ali case, seeking **t to exclude name of Ayyan from the Exit Control List.

In her petition filed in the Supreme Court, Saima Chaudhry said her husband Customs Inspector Ijaz Chaudhry was killed when he was investigating the case of dollar girl Ayyan Ali. She said her husband had recorded a statement against Ayyan in the currency smuggling case.

Sub inspector Ch Ijaz was shot dead by unk**wn armed assailants outside his house in Qasimabad. He was rushed to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Ijaz was the investigating ******r probing Ayyan after she was charged with currency smuggling and money laundering.

Ayyan had been caught by airport security from Islamabad airport in March last year when more than USD500,000 were found from her luggage as she was about to bound for a Dubai-bound flight. The model was sent to Adiala Jail for four months before her release on bail.
