Hire KSF services to deal with FBR, others
** need of law enforcement agencies; DMCs staff makes Bureau accept demands
ISLAMABAD: A powerful force besides the Rangers, police, NAB and FIA do exist. If anyone has to deal with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) or any other individual or institution he can Hire the services of the “Koora Safai Force” (KSF) as on Tuesday it has forced the Bureau to reopen two of the accounts of its department. As a result, the removal of the garbage dumped before the ******s of the FBR has **w started. Earlier this KSF was employed by Jam Sadiq during the regime of General Ziaul Haq against a senior journalist Ardeshir Cowasjee, and during the Musharraf regime this force was employed against re**wned lawyers’ leader Rashid Rizvi in the days of the lawyers movement. The staff of the Karachi District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) were on strike because of the **n-payment of their salaries. The FBR authorities lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the officials of DMCs for allegedly creating hurdles in the official work and dumping trolleys of garbage in front of the FBR ****** in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi. The FIR contains crime number 277 of 2016 under section 341, 506-B, and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) registered at Karachi’s Sharah-e-Faisal Police Station against some unk**wn employees of DMCs by the Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue of the FBR, Karachi. According to the contents of the FIR, a copy of which is available with ‘The News’, some unk**wn employees of the DMCs dumped trolleys of garbage in front of the FBR Gulistan-e-Johar ******, abused FBR ******rs and staff and created hurdles in official work. According to the documentary evidence available with The News’, FBR issued **tices and reminders to all six DMCs of Karachi by informing Sindh government’s Local Government Department and Finance Department for **t depositing the withholding taxes of near one billion rupees of one financial year but the administrations of DMCs and Sindh government ig**red the matter. After completing all formalities on March 22, 2016, the FBR under section 140 of Income Tax Ordinance passed an order against DMCs and seized their 32 bank accounts and recovered 94 million rupees and deposited with the federal government account. Sources said that an**yed with the FBR’s act, the DMCs staff dumped garbage at the main gates of FBR Gulistan-e-Johar ******. The FBR ******rs tried their best to lodge a complaint but the police refused to do so and a complaint was lodged after the interference of the federal government, added the sources. FBR deputy commissioner Inland Revenue confirmed the move and told this reporter that the FBR ******rs were doing their official duties but DMC officials **t only threatened them but also dumped garbage in front of their ******. These employees also created hurdles in the official duties and in this regard, an FIR had been lodged against them and hopefully the police would arrest these employees, added FBR DC. This reporter tried his best to get the official version of DMCs and called all the six administrators of DMCs at their cell numbers and sent them detailed text messages on the matter but all avoided responding.
