Laura Jane Grace is saying a fiery goodbye to gender.

On Sunday night, the Trans lead singer of punk band Against Me! burned her birth certificate during a show in Durham, **rth Carolina, to protest the state's controversial HB2 legislation.

Grace set the certificate on fire as a symbol against the bill, shouting "Goodbye, gender!"

“The way you affect change is by empowering the grassroots movement,” Grace told the crowd, according to the Washington Post. “By empowering the people.”
