Mumbai loses 25% water to leakage, theft

Despite BMC?s multicrore water augmentation projects, Mumbai city is still losing 25% of its water to leakage and theft. According to information given to the legislative council, minister of state Ranjit Patil said Mumbai receives 3,650 million litres daily (MLD) of water as against a growing demand of 4,500 MLD and loses 900 MLD to leakage and theft.
