The Al-Omrah branch municipality in Makkah has confiscated and destroyed more than 70,000 containers of different sizes containing fake Zamzam water, said the local authority?s chairman Luai Bin Jamal Ashour. He said inspection teams from the municipality discovered an illegal factory for refilling and packaging the blessed water to sell to residents, pilgrims and visitors. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Haj **ticed illegally packaged containers of Zamzam water being distributed to pilgrims. The ministry said the containers were **t manufactured according to the specifications of the King Abdullah Zamzam water Project to provide holy water to pilgrims before their departure for their home countries.
