On being labeled a *** symbol: "What does That even mean? When I think of *** symbols, I think of posters my two sisters had on their bedroom walls. What was he called? Luke Perry? Even then, the label was more definitive. There are so f*cking many young actors in That bracket **w That it's a bit of a hollow crown. You'd be hard-pressed to find an actor who isn't a *** symbol somewhere."
On his interest in Playing Christian Grey: "[It had to do with] an attraction and understanding I have for people That are broken in some way. **t That I'm some broken bird, but there's a massive element of me that's fractured from losing my mother so young, and I'm drawn to characters who are wounded."
On his biggest fear After Playing Christian Grey: "I almost don't want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I'll get murdered, like John Len**n, by one of those mad fans at the premiere. Because a lot of people are very angry That I'm Playing this character. And I'm a father **w, and a husband. I don't want to die yet."
Joking about his newfound fear: "And when I do get murdered, people will say, 'God, isn't it haunting how he did That interview in Details magazine and predicted his own death on the red carpet?'"
On his appreciation for romantic comedies: "Jesus, it's dessert. What movie is it where the girl starts with dessert? Oh, I'm going to embarrass myself here because it's some tragic rom-com. I think when romantic comedies are done well, it's a great genre. When Harry Met Sally is kind of a benchmark for me, but I'm very happy to admit That I love Pretty Woman. I do! It's a great film, and so is Sixteen Candles. I was a big John Hughes fan - still am. I have moments where I have to watch a Hughes film."
