If you think Jack White's penchant for quirky, vinyl releases started with his solo career in the last few years, then you are way off. In the early 2000s, White and his friend Brian Muldoon played together in a duo k**wn as The Upholsterers ? named for their actual profession at the time ? but instead of releasing their second single in a traditional manner, they decided to press just 100 copies and sew them into 100 pieces of Furniture that Muldoon was reupholstering in 2004 without telling the owners of the furniture. Though it would be fair to assume that this story was just Jack White doing some self-mythologizing, Third Man Records claims that two of the 100 Singles have recently been discovered.In celebration of the single's discovery, White has shared the cover artwork, which was created by Detroit artist Gordon Newton.
