Security cameras have captured the moment a Palestinian man rammed a vehicle into pedestrians in Jerusalem, killing one of them and injuring more than a dozen. The driver was shot dead by police. The pedestrian who died was reported to be a paramilitary border police inspector. The Hamas group in Gaza has praised the attack. Spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said: ?Hamas*blesses*the*courageous*operation*in*Jerusal em*and*considers*it*as*a***rmal*reaction*to*the*Is raeli*crimes*in*Jerusalem*and*in*al-Aqsa. Hamas*calls*on*all*of*our*people*to*use*all*means* to*stop*these*crimes.? The Israeli Prime Minister condemned the attack while attending a ceremony for the slain Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. ?The ramming attack in Jerusalem is a direct result of the Palestinian President?s incitement and of his Hamas partners,? he said. ?We*are*in*a*continuous*battle*over*Jerusalem,*whi ch*I*have****doubt*we*will*win.? Two weeks ago a similar vehicle attack in the same area left a woman and a baby dead. Anger over the incidents is expected to add to the rising tension in Jerusalem.
