The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, has accused Israel of committing war Crimes during the Israeli Defence Force?s interception of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla in 2010. Bensouda said the results of the investigation gave her reason to conclude that Crimes were committed on one of the boats, Mavi Marmara. Nine members of the flotilla were killed by IDF soldiers. She said the war Crimes committed by Israel included ?wilful killing, wilfully causing serious injury to body and health, and committing outrages upon personal dignity.? However, Bensouda said that, in accordance with the Rome Statute and the ICC?s prioritization of war Crimes considered more grave or on a larger scale, ** further action will be taken. She said that ?while the situation regarding the civilian population in Gaza was a matter of international concern?, the investigation was limited to the flotilla incident.
