JERUSALEM (AP) ? In a story Oct. 7, The Associated Press quoted the Israeli military as describing a Hezbollah blast that wounded two Israeli soldiers as a "breach of Israel's sovereignty." The story should have made clear that the attack took place in a disputed area, Shebaa Farms, where the borders of Israel, Leba**n and Syria meet. Israel says the enclave is part of the Golan Heights, which it captured from Syria in 1967. Leba**n and Syria say Shebaa Farms belong to Leba**n, while the United Nations says the area is part of Syria and that Damascus and Israel should negotiate its fate.
