The Liverpool WAG said she was â??so proudâ?* of her other half as she posted a happy snap of the couple on her Facebook page.

Coleen then wrote on Twitter: â??Fantastic night!! Fantastic achievement!! So proud, job done. Off home now with Englandâ??s all time top goal scorer.â?*

Wayne, 29, described grabbing his 50th goal for his country as a â??huge honourâ?*.

He uploaded a photo to Instagram and captioned it: â??Huge honour to be @england record goal scorer. Itâ??s a night Iâ??ll never forget. Thanks to everybody that has helped me along the way!â?*

Former teammates Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher also wished him all the best for his â??Incredible achievement.â?*

Ex-Liverpool captain Gerrard shared a picture of the pair wearing their England shirts and wrote: â??Congratulations to @waynerooney . Incredible achievement. top playerâ?*

Jamie also shared a photograph of him and Wayne and captioned it â??Well done to Wayne Rooney last night on becoming Englandâ??s all time top goal scorer. #50notout.â?*

England captain Wayne made an emotional dressing-room speech after the 2-0 win against Switzerland.

After passing Sir Bobby Charltonâ??s record, he was presented with a commemorative shirt by Roy Hodgson.

Wayne, who is originally from Croxteth, said: â??Itâ??s a great feeling. Iâ??ve been close for the last few games and itâ??s a dream come true. I was bit emotional, itâ??s a huge honour and one I am extremely proud of.â?*

The Football Association confirmed he will be presented with a golden boot by Charlton before England play Estonia at Wembley Stadium on October 9.
