ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan directed all relevant departments on Sunday that they should remain on high alert to deal with any untoward situation arising out of unprovoked Indian firing on the Line of Control (LoC).
According to a statement, he directed the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and district administration for immediately rescuing the people affected by Indian firing, besides providing them all possible assistance.
Haider Khan further asked the departments concerned to device a comprehensive strategy in coordination with the Pak Army to deal with any untoward situation.
The AJK prime minister put the health department as well as SDMA on alert to effectively deal with the emerging situation arising out of continued Indian shelling on the civilian population resulting in casualties and injuries to local population. He also called upon the administrations of affected districts to immediately pay the compensation to the owners of the houses devastated in Indian shelling.The AJK prime minister said escalating tension on the LoC was an Indian attempt to divert attention from the worsening situation in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in India.
