ABU DHABI: The five-wicket loss in the must-win match against Karachi Kings has virtually knocked out Multan Sultans from the playoff stage of the game.The Shoaib Malik-team managed to only win two games off nine played matches. All credit to Sultans' bowlers who dragged a low-scoring match into a thriller with back-to-back wickets, but Livingstone's half-century off 42 balls overshadowed the efforts in Abu Dhabi.Muhammad Abbas picked two, while Ilyas got three wickets, reported Geo News. Meanwhile, CA Ingram scored 31 off 24 with four boundaries. Multan Sultans' batting lineup once again failed to produce desired results as the team managed to score only 118 runs. Such was the decimation by Kings' bowlers that Hammad Azam remained the top scorer for the Sultans with just 29 off 30 balls.Fast bowler Usman Khan Shinwari picked four wickets while spinner Umar Khan bagged three. Multan have managed only two wins out of their eight clashes so far in the ongoing Pakistan Super League fourth edition, whereas Karachi are only slightly better off with three wins from seven games. As the tournament heads nearer to the playoffs, time is running out for both the sides and every game presents a precious opportunity to move up the points table.
