ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal Friday sacked two officials of the NAB Karachi after they were proved guilty of corruption and misconduct.According to the NAB announcement, the terminated officers are Sarvesh Sheikh, deputy director (BS-18), and Shakir Ali, deputy assistant director (BS-16) and both were dismissed from service after completing all legal requirements. Both the officers were provided ample opportunity to prove their innocence but, they failed to defend allegations levelled against them.It merits mentioning here that Justice Javed Iqbal had announced self-accountability immediately after taking over the responsibilities of NAB chairman. The NAB spokesman said the Bureau is diligently pursuing the orders of its chairman and there is no room for corrupt officers/officials in the Bureau.“The Bureau not only considers corruption eradication its foremost duty but is also sincerely taking practical steps in this regard across the board as per law,” the spokesman said.Meanwhile, chairing a meeting to review overall performance of the NAB at the NAB Headquarters, Justice Javed Iqbal said the NAB is committed to root out corruption in all its forms and manifestations across the board with iron hands. He said the NAB has established state-of-the-art forensic science laboratory in Islamabad.
