Shoe attack on Imran: Police release man for want of evidence

DSP Hafi Imtiaz told the media that Soofian was arrested shortly after the incident in which a man hurled a Shoe at PTI chief during his address to party workers on Tuesday. The shoe, however, hit Aleem Khan, a close aide of PTi chairman. The Police official said the suspect was released as they have found no evidence against him.  Shoe hurled at Nawaz Sharif at Lahore seminary LAHORE: A man on Sunday hurled* shoe at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Jamia Naeemia, Lahore.According to Geo News, the attacker appeared to be a student of the seminary. Imran Khan...  He said as many as 15 people were interrogated in connection with the incident. Imtiaz said though they have received no written application from the organizers of the PTI gathering, a case has been lodged on behalf of a party worker in the area. The incident took place two days after ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif was* attacked with a Shoe at Lahore seminary. A day earlier, Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif had become target of an ink attack at a party convention in Sialkot.
