ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday observed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had not got the map for construction of his Bani Gala residence approved from the authorities concerned and ruled that everyone in the locality would be treated equally according to law. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar resumed hearing in a suo moto case regarding encroachments and environmental degradation in Bani Gala. During the hearing, Babar Awan, the counsel for Imran, denied allegations of submitting fake documents before the court and claimed that he would prove the forgery on the part of government, saying the NOC for his client house construction carried the signatures of the Union Council (UC) Bara Kahu secretary. He contended that they had approached the UC for approval of the map. ?I had earlier submitted that the government has subjected them to media trial,? Awan said and added that as the government was against them, it would never verify their documents. He argued that the court should examine the signatures of the UC Bara Kahu secretary adding that the UC was also empowered to issue birth and death certificates. ?We got hold of some of the certificates, issued to the residents of the said union council, sans those signatures,? Awan contended, adding that Muhammad Umer, the UC secretary, remained suspended as well. Justice Umar Ata Bandial asked Awan as to why he was getting emotional, adding that he should pay the amount and regularise his client?s house. Chief Justice Nisar observed that same law would be applied to everyone in Bani Gala. ?Your map for the construction of the house was not approved and in our view the construction is illegal,? the chief justice told Awan, adding that he would be treated in way similar to others in the locality. ?At last, all the constructions in Bani Gala will have to be regularised,? he remarked and adjourned further hearing until March 13. On the last date of hearing, Additional Attorney General Nayyar Rizvi had submitted a report before the Supreme Court and contended that Imran?s no-objection certificate (NOC) for the construction of his Bani Gala residence could not be verified. On the other hand, Awan informed the Supreme Court that he had obtained the said NOC, but his claim was rejected by Umar, a former official of UC Bara Kahu, saying that the NOC submitted by Imran related to his Bani Gala residence was never issued by the authority. The court, however, gave Imran one week to furnish a response on the document he had submitted, terming it fake. Umer had submitted that the NOC provided to the court dated back to 2003, when he was posted as a secretary at the UC office. He contended that the NOC was a computerised copy whereas the UC at that time had no computer system and the work was done manually He further claimed the blueprint for the residence was also fake and said the UC had asked Imran to submit a blueprint but it was never submitted. Similarly Muhammad Yaqoob, former chairman of UC Bara Kahu, though verified his signature on the NOC but said that someone had got the signed paper from his office and then prepared the draft on which his real name was not written. The court gave time to the PTI chairman after his counsel could not appear before the court however, Faisal Chaudhry, assisting the PTI panel of lawyers, told the court that they had not yet received the report submitted by the CDA and hence sought time to file reply. Earlier, the Chief Justice while dealing with the matter regarding approval of gas connection in Bani Gala and adjacent areas on political basis, made it clear that strict action would be taken against the people found in awarding the same on political basis. The managing directors of Sui Southern and Northern, in their statements, contended that gas connections were never ever given on political basis The chief justice, however, observed that whenever elections approached, connections were approved to the consumers and they would probe the matter through a chartered accountant.Later the court directed the Sui Southern and Northern to submit their respective reports after every two months and disposed of the matter. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Imran?s Bani Gala mansion not approved by authorities || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
