ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday remarked that the live telecast of current affairs programmes might be banned if anchorpersons didn't stop disseminating unauthentic information.
?TV anchors humiliate and discredit respectable persons,? said the judge while hearing a case in which the bench had taken notice of contemptuous remarks passed against the judiciary by a private TV channel anchor Matiullah Jan.The channel management tendered an unconditional apology for the Feb 5 telecast, while the anchor submitted that he would be cautious in future. The anchor said he had utmost respect for the judiciary. The bench, however, termed the responses unsatisfactory and directed the respondents to admit their mistake in a reply and submit unconditional apology.
