The demand for making Gairsain as the state capital of Uttarakhand is gaining momentum with each passing day. After a string of protests in Gairsain, now voices are being raised in Dehradun. As many as 20 social organizations came together for the cause and Over six hundred activists took out a Masaal Jaloos (torch procession). The procession started from Gandhi park and ended at Saheed Sthal. One of the agitators pointed out that in the last 17 years Over 17 lakh people had migrated from the hills in search of job. He added that as a result of migration, the overall development of Uttarakhand could not be carried out and the hills have been ignored.
