total strangers can arrange to recreate
famous historical photographs.

Earlier this week, writer Shamus Clancy tweeted a
famous black-and-white photograph from the end of WWII.

That picture (which it's worth noting has a
controversial backstory) was taken by Alfred Eisentaedton VJ Day in 1945.
Clancy's tweet attracted a bunch of retweets and replies — but there was one in particular, from Ashley Suder, that stood out.
