افتراضي Nawaz deems elected PM above the law: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Monday that Nawaz Sharif considers an elected prime minister as above the law. He said the people would tell whether reforms have taken place in police, health and education or not.
In a series of messages on the social media, Imran wrote, ?yesterday Nawaz Sharif made clear his idea of democracy and of a PM heading a democratic govt was where the PM is above the law of the land after being elected. He can money launder, evade taxes, conceal assets, lie before parliament - all corruption is permissible coz PM is elected!
?Nawaz as usual also held forth with a litany of lies about KP govt. Fact is there are 350 micro hydel stations completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa -- all NS had to do was to send his paid hacks to chk this out! As for police, health and education reforms - all NS had to do was to talk to KP people!?
Moreover, Imran claimed that according to Nawaz's notion of democracy, "the elected PM can abuse all state institutions, storm SC with his party hoodlums, give judges briefcases full of money ? with no questions asked and no law applied because an elected PM is above the law of the land!?
Imran boasted about the KP government's 'Billion Tree Tsunami' campaign, saying the World Wildlife Fund audited the programme, the Bonn Challenge commended the KP government and International Union for Conservation of Nature acknowledged its success. "Such ignorance on part of NS is shameful!" he wrote.
Meanwhile, the PTI strongly condemned what it called the horse-trading for the upcoming Senate elections and decided to bring into open the ?crooks involved in it?.
The PTI media strategy group meeting expressed solidarity with people of Kashmir in struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination. The group event was chaired by Imran Khan. A statement issued after the meeting said the PTI condemns in the strongest terms the horse-trading prior to the Senate elections. The PTI leadership has decided to bring into open the elements involved in this heinous act marring the essence of democracy.
The PTI also expressed grief over the incident at the Orange Line Train project. The PTI central leaders discussed in detail the ongoing political situation prevailing in Pakistan. The forum expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren who, it said, are fighting for the implementation of the UN resolutions to decide their future. The PTI reiterated to move the Supreme Court, seeking probe into the Hudaibya Paper Mills case.
The meeting also expressed grave concern over the recent wave of terrorism and strongly condemned the extrajudicial killing in Kasur where police had allegedly killed a man named Mudassir. Condemning the alleged police atrocities, the PTI stated that the ruling elite of the Punjab considered killing of innocent people legitimate. The PTI has decided to approach the court seeking formation of a judicial commission to investigate the Kasur incident.
The PTI expressed grief over the Orange Line Train project and prayed for the recovery of the workers trapped under the rubble. The PTI demanded of the government to ensure transparency in the Orange Line Train project.Reacting to ex-PM Nawaz Sharif?s speech in Azad Kashmir, PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry charged that it was shameful that even on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Nawaz chose to lament about his disqualification. He said appointing Maulana Fazlur Rehman as chairman of Kashmir committee showed the government?s non-seriousness about the Kashmir issue. He alleged that disqualification has made Nawaz a psychological patient. Fawad said that investigations have been started against Nawaz in London and asked if he would blame Pakistan's judiciary for this or agitate there against the investigation in London.
