LAHORE: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif on Friday vowed to campaign to ensure respect for vote and restoration of justice, as he asked the people to foil the ambitions of the conspirators.
Addressing party workers at Jati Umra, Nawaz said the public-contact movement would be expedited in coming days and, therefore, they should remain active. ?Those chanting hollow slogans should compete with our development works,? said the ousted prime minister and added the masses would give an answer to the conspirators in the elections.
Meanwhile, preparations have been finalised at the Municipal Stadium, Jaranwala, where Nawaz Will address a big public meeting today (Saturday). Separately, AJK President Masood Khan Friday called on Nawaz Sharif at his Jati Umra residence, and they discussed the matters related to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, issues of national importance and the ongoing development, economic initiatives and projects in the state.
Masood briefed the former prime minister on the increase in killings, brutalities and crimes against humanity in the Indian-Occupied Kashmir. Nawaz said the Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with the wishes of the people and human right violations in IOK must come to an end.
He said Pakistan and India must initiate a diplomatic and political process to resolve the issue of Kashmir.Masood thanked Nawaz for his full support to Azad Kashmir?s economic development. The AJK president said with the constructive efforts of the federal government, the AJK has been formally made part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. This, he said, would bring in huge investment opportunities for the local and international investors.He thanked the former prime minister for making AJK a formal part of the CPEC. Nawaz and Masood said Pakistan?s challenges have increased because of the recent developments, especially those relating to the Pak-US relations. These challenges needed to be met, they said, with ingenuity and sagacity while maintaining Pakistan?s dignity at all costs.
