Also on Wednesday, Shahbaz reviewed progress on installation of solar panels in schools under ?Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme? and directed the officials concerned to complete the first phase as soon as possible. Under this programme, solar panels will be installed in more than 20,000 schools across the province to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The phase would cover over 10,000 schools in southern Punjab. Chairing a meeting, the chief minister described the initiative as a beneficial investment for the country?s bright future and providing best atmosphere to the students. Separately, Shahbaz ordered the officials concerned to take emergency steps to save the citizens from influenza, as he reviewed the situation at a meeting after the outbreak of seasonal influenza in Multan. On the other hand, the chief minister, taking notice of a news item appearing in a section of the press regarding affixing of his picture at date sheet, sought a report from the secretary education (schools) and ordered action against the responsible persons. During the day, Shahbaz also visited the residence of late Malik Nadeem Awan, a UC chairman of PML-N, at Awan Market Ferozepur Road to express deep sense of sorrow and grief over his death.
