PML-N serves people selflessly, says Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Wednesday the PML-N had served the masses selflessly unlike some political elements that opposed the development process. ?The proof of our genuine public service and so-called claims of the opponents are evident before the people. The leader of a political party has promoted the politics of deceit, hypocrisy and allegations, and the claimants of change have perhaps believed that a frequent change in their viewpoint is the ?change?. We have brought revolution in health, education and social sectors in the real sense,? said the chief minister. He was talking to the Punjab Assembly members Khurram Abbas Sial, Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Sardar Qaiser Abbas Khan Magsi and Mian Marghoob. ?We have earned good repute in public service, while the leader of a political party has earned disrespect due to mendacity and levelling allegations. The opposition to development projects aiming at providing services to the people will prove fatal for such elements as the people will hold their accountability in the next elections. The politics of falsehood, hypocrisy and allegations will be defeated in the 2018 elections,? the chief minister.
Also on Wednesday, Shahbaz reviewed progress on installation of solar panels in schools under ?Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme? and directed the officials concerned to complete the first phase as soon as possible.
Under this programme, solar panels will be installed in more than 20,000 schools across the province to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The phase would cover over 10,000 schools in southern Punjab.
Chairing a meeting, the chief minister described the initiative as a beneficial investment for the country?s bright future and providing best atmosphere to the students.
Separately, Shahbaz ordered the officials concerned to take emergency steps to save the citizens from influenza, as he reviewed the situation at a meeting after the outbreak of seasonal influenza in Multan.
On the other hand, the chief minister, taking notice of a news item appearing in a section of the press regarding affixing of his picture at date sheet, sought a report from the secretary education (schools) and ordered action against the responsible persons.
During the day, Shahbaz also visited the residence of late Malik Nadeem Awan, a UC chairman of PML-N, at Awan Market Ferozepur Road to express deep sense of sorrow and grief over his death. He said Awan was a senior party worker and his services for the area would never be forgotten.Moreover, the chief minister in a message expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of Port Qasim Authority Secretary Muhammad Saqib.
