?We committed a mistake in Osama bin Laden case but now the country?s sovereignty will be protected at all costs,? he said while addressing the opening ceremony of AirTech 17 at the Air University here. Aman said enemies were conducting terrorist activities in Pakistan through Afghanistan. ?We cannot change our neighbors, but the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is fully equipped and completely eligible to protect the borders. Even the Indian military officials admit the professional skills of the PAF,? he said. Aman said the attack on Kamra Air Base was the biggest and most unfortunate tragedy in the PAF history. He said terrorists managed to destroy one PAF SAB plane and also inflicted considerable damage on another. ?An international organisation wanted $287 million to cover the material damage that the PAF sustained in the attack but Pakistan?s bright young scientists and engineers added two new fully functional fighter planes to our fleet at a fraction of the cost,? Aman said. ?We suffered a lot of losses in the incident but did not lose our morale. In fact, the fight against extremism continues with an unflinching vigor and resolve since then, transforming the PAF into a much stronger force,? he added. ?After the attack, not only did we set out to make the PAF better and stronger, but we were also determined to guide the nation towards self-sufficiency. Now Pakistan will make its own fighter jets,? the air chief aid. ?The PAF has been at the forefront in the war against terrorism,? he said. Talking about the terror threat emanating from Afghanistan, Aman was of opinion that where dozens of countries had failed, the PAF had been successful in bringing peace. He said there was no dearth of talent in Pakistan but rather the keen minds present here needed a platform to showcase their exceptional talents to the world. Discussing security issues at large, the PAF chief noted that the region where the country was based was beset by different challenges and difficulties at the moment. He said the neighboring countries had tried to harm Pakistan, and India was at the top of list in this regard. He said India was behind the Kamra Air Base attack, as terrorists had nothing to do with the aeroplanes. ?We can?t change our neighbors. No outside power can engineer democracy inside a country nor is democracy the solution to every problem. Examples in Iraq and Libya are in front of us. After the fall of Qaddafi and Saddam what happened in these countries? Did they get democracy?? He said the PAF started making weapons after the US stopped the supply. He said the PAF built JF-17 when delivery of F-16s was suspended adding that JF-17 was better than F-16 in four disciplines. Aman announced that the PAF will soon make 5th generation fighter planes under ?Project Azm?. The air force will be able to sale weapons after fulfilling own needs by 2020 and will launch a new satellite as well, he told the audience. He also talked about Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasaad and said they helped in eliminating militants and extremism. أكثر... ??????? ??????: US drone in Pak airspace will be shot down: air chief || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
