LAHORE: The sit-in at The Mall by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool-Allah (TLYR) Jalali group continued on Tuesday with no round of negotiations with the government. Both sides accused each other of not initiating any move towards the dialogue process. Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali, who is heading the sit-in, said no dialogue could be held with the government unless rulers showed any sincerity in implementing the Nov-3 agreement, which the government made with them in Islamabad at the time of winding up of their earlier sit-in there. Talking to the media, Dr Jalali said Auqaf Minister Zaeem Qadri had sent a message to them from the Punjab government, saying that the government was about to hold talks with them. But no representative of the government came for the talks. Zaeem Qadri told the media that the government was about to hold talks with the protestors very soon. Dr Jalali reiterated his demand that the government must sack Home Minister Rana Sanaullah and lodge a case against him on treason charges, because he openly flouted constitutional provisions related to Qadianis. His other demands include revoking of the ban on mosque loud speakers, withdrawal of cases against prayer leaders and prayer-callers, those arrested should be released and Senator Raja Zafarul Haq committee report should be made public. He warned that unless the demands were met, the sit-in would continue. He alleged that the government wanted to prolong the matter to wait for the signs of tiredness appearing among the protestors. Earlier, Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Hamid Raza called on the leadership of the sit-in and expressed solidarity with their cause and demands.
