LAHORE: The law enforcement agencies have revealed that the Ferozepur Road suicide bombing was carried out by a new Group affiliated to the Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Media reports quoting a senior police official say the Taliban Special Group (TSG), which has well-trained suicide bombers, was responsible for the attack. The police official said a TTP dissenter group, the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, had claimed responsibility for the previous attacks in Lahore.
He added that the law enforcement agencies considered the emergence of TSG as a challenge and its members had been trained for carrying out large-scale attacks. He said it was possible that the facilitators had transported the bomber to the blast site in a rickshaw or some other vehicle.
The CCTV camera installed in the vicinity wasn’t functioning at the time of the attack and, therefore, identifying the facilitators was **t possible, the police official said.
