NMC opposition members tear budget copies
It is important to **te that the budget session of NMC was held under the leadership of NMC Chairman Muhammad Azeem Mughal. When the budget was being presented, the opposition members stood up and raised slogans, creating uproar in the meeting hall. The members started pushing each other and tore the unsigned copies of the budget, while raising slogans of 'Go, Azeem, Go’. Later, while talking to media, opposition members’ former leader Abdul Majeed Advocate said that the opposition was kept aside from the budget session proceedings. He said that ** finance committee was formed to compile the budget and it was prepared in a hurry. He claimed that the copies of the budget, bearing ** signatures of any authorised person, were provided to the members. He said that the budget was presented in a hurry and members were given ** time to comment after the resolution to pass the budget was presented. Abdul Majeed said that the slaughter house, which is **n-functional for a long time, has been allocated Rs1.2 million. He said that that NMC chairman was behaving like a ‘Mughal emperor’ and carrying out development schemes in selected areas of his own choice. On this event, other opposition leaders also expressed anger over the use of unethical language by NMC Vice Chairman Khan Bahadur against a mi**rity member Tasawar Maseeh.
