 PPP co-chairman doesn’t rule out his candidacy for next PMMULTAN: President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Asif Ali Zardari has **t ruled out his candidacy as the next prime minister in the 2018 general elections, saying the party would decide on the next candidate for the country’s top slot. Talking to the media at the residence of former minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi on Friday, Zardari said the PPP was passing through a party reorganisation phase. Criticising former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, he said: “Iftikhar Chaudhry, you must be ashamed (of your acts).” Zardari said, in fact, his (Iftikhar Chaudhry’s) target was getting himself inducted as the president of Pakistan. Iftikhar Chaudhry had a political agenda and ambitions and he was a political judge. He said Iftikhar Chaudhry had established his political party after failing to achieve his goals. About the court verdict on the Panama Leaks, he said, “I don’t k**w about the expected verdict. But one thing is very much clear that ** court could issue even a single verdict against Mian Nawaz Sharif in the past.” Zardari recalled that Benazir Bhutto had said that courts had never ruled in favour of the PPP and the Bhutto family and against the Sharifs. Verdicts had always come against the PPP, but ** verdict was ever issued against Mian Nawaz Sharif, he added. Zardari said the PPP would sweep the Punjab in the upcoming elections, and form the government. He said the PML-N should learn from the PPP’s rule what governance was. He said the PPP would hold public meetings in Punjab soon despite restrictions in the name of security. The PPP would organise public rallies in all parts of Punjab. He said the PPP was ready for the next general elections, which might be held any time. Earlier, the former president, Asif Zardari, reached the Kazmi House and congratulated him on his acquittal. He held a meeting in a closed door room. He also congratulated Sardar Abdul Quyyum Jatoi on ending his exile. Zardari said soon a Bilawal House would be established in Multan.
