Display of fireworks arranged in Karachi and Bahria Enclave; Malik Riaz assures Balochistan senators of constructing homes for Awaran quake victims

KARACHI/QUETTA: Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz Ahmad has planned to celebrate the Defence Day in a befitting manner to pay tribute to the martyrs of September 6, 1965.

He’s also planned a magnanimous display of fireworks in Karachi on September 6 and in the Bahria Enclave, Islamabad, on September 7. Malik Riaz has also named a Chowk as Nishan-e-Haider Chowk in Bahria Town Phase-8, Rawalpindi.

Talking to the media, he said: “The country’s armed forces have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the nation and we would pay them tribute on this occasion.” He said the Defence Day would be celebrated in Bahria Town with full zeal and zest today. On the other hand, Malik Riaz assured senators from Balochistan that he would build houses for the quake victims of Awaran.

Balochistan senators, including central leader of National Party Senator Kabir Muhammad Ahmad Shahi and PPP Senator Rozi Khan, said Malik Riaz was fulfilling his promises which he had made across the country. They asked him to accomplish his promise of constructing homes for the quake victims, as they were forced to live under the open sky.

The senators said the provincial government would provide security so that the Bahria Town chief might construct homes. They expressed these views while talking to Malik Riaz in a meeting the other day.

The senators told Malik Riaz that he had provided help for the welfare of people and also in case of calamity in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas of the country. They asked him to start construction of homes for the quake victims of Awaran.

Malik Riaz said the main reason for **t constructing homes in Awaran was insecurity adding that he would construct homes if he was provided security there. Senator Kabir Muhammad Ahmad Shahi assured Malik Riaz of all possible cooperation from the provincial government for construction of homes for the quake victims.
