'Pikmin' get their first handheld adventure next year

After three full-sized games in their past, the diminutive Pikmin — and Captain Olimar — are coming to a Nintendo handheld system for the first time.

Instead of giving you vast levels to explore in any direction, the yet-to-be-titled Pikmin game is a side-scrolling affair. Olimar uses the Pikmin to solve problems in front of, below or above him, and the action doesn't seem to be limited to just one 3DS screen.
