Political party worker confesses to killings in leaked video

KARACHI: A suspect affiliated with a Political party on Sunday confessed to his involvement in 12 May and Tahir Plaza incidents which saw many Political workers and lawyers killed in 2007 and 2008 during lawyers movement for restoration of the then chief chief justice of Pakistan.

A leaked video that was reportedly made during the course of investigation, Kashif Qadir says his father joined a Political party after being repeatedly coerced into paying extortion.

According to Geo News, the video was recorded as part of the investigation carried out by a Joint Investigation Team (IJT). The JITs often consist of officials from police, Rangers and intelligence agencies.

At least four people were killed when gunmen opened fire from flyovers in Baloch Colony and FTC on people passing through the Shahra-e-Faisal on May 12, 2007.

Six people were killed in Tahir Plaza when unk**wn men set fire to the building in April 2008.
