Soon after, Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz responded: “PM Modi’s reference to Balochistan, which is an integral part of Pakistan, only proves Pakistan’s contention that India through intelligence agency RAW has been fomenting terrorism in Balochistan.” Surely, Aziz is right. The cat is out of the bag. Some disgruntled Baloch leader sitting in Europe with marginal following thanked Modi? Who are the people in Gilgit who contacted Modi? Could he name only one? According to an unnamed Indian government official: "The statement on Balochistan did **t come out as blue. We are clearly troubled with human rights violations in Balochistan. What PM said it was an expression of concern. We feel for people inside & outside. My humanity doesn't stop at my border. It was expression of sentiment for suppressed people some distance away….India has spoken for human rights violation in other parts of the world.” What a joke the statement is -- the leader of the so-called world's largest democracy, the butcher of Gujrat Muslims, concerned about human rights! A very interesting reaction came from the National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah to Modi's statement. “He should also discuss about part of J&K which is burning,” said Abdullah, adding: “When you say Kashmir is an integral part of India, you are talking of land **t people. Make people yours too. We are supporters of a dialogue process between India & Pakistan, we believe that a dialogue is the only way.” Is Modi forgetting how India is treating the local insurgency by Maoists or the Naxalites, who are operational in the eastern Red Corridor. According to BBC, the rebels operate in 182 districts in India, mainly in the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal. Isn’t it the time that Modi should stand accountable to the international community for unending atrocities against Kashmiris, Muslims and Dalits in held Kashmir and rest of India? The fate of Baloch is inextricably linked to Pakistan. The fifth insurgency in the province, funded by India and some other foreign powers, has almost ended in the last two years. أكثر... |
