افتراضي Sindh seeks Karachi operation expenses, new NFC Award

ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday asked the federal government to meet the expenses being incurred on the Karachi operation, constitute a new NFC Award and decrease loadshedding in the province.

Murad made these demands during his meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House.It was his first meeting with the prime minister after being elected as the Sindh chief minister last month.

Congratulating Murad on his election, Nawaz assured him that the federal government will continue to extend all-out support to the provincial government in its endeavours to better serve the people of Sindh. Murad inquired after the prime minister and discussed various matters related to Sindh.

The overall state of affairs in the province and the Karachi law and order situation also came under discussion.“We have always received the support of the prime minister and are hopeful of receiving continued support of the prime minister and federal government in future,” said the chief minister.

He appreciated and ack**wledged the full-fledged support of the prime minister for the Thar coal project.“It was because of your personal interest that the project was launched and we look forward to your continued support in this regard,” he added.

He assured the prime minister of full support of Sindh government for implementing the China Pakistan Eco**mic Corridor (CPEC) project.The chief minister suggested inclusion of a couple of projects in the CPEC project.

Nawaz said the federal government was with the Sindh government and assured him that inclusion of projects in CPEC would be considered positively.Murad also raised some issues pertaining to the Ministry of Water and Power. Nawaz directed the minister and secretary water and power to meet the Sindh chief minister and resolve the issues.

Nawaz told Murad Ali Shah that he was available to all the chief ministers and the provincial governments to fast-track the development projects in all the provinces.The prime minister expressed the hope that the newly-elected chief minister will strive for the development and uplift of Sindh province according to the mandate and aspirations of the people of the province.
