From Our Correspondent c: Accepting a demand of protesting employees of the Irrigation Department, Arrouti police on Thursday registered a case against 18 shopkeepers, who allegedly attacked them on Wednesday. The employees staged a demonstration against the shopkeepers and chanted slogans against them. After registration of the case, the protesters dispersed. Head Sidhnai Irrigation SDO Hafiz Mehmood Rashid said that they were demolishing illegal shops when 18 accused persons, including Mazhar, Arif, Nadim, Iqbal, Khalid, Azeem, Karim and Muhammad Ahmad, attacked and tortured them. The accused also fractured an arm of employee Dildar Ahmad. Police have arrested two of the accused and are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused. Meanwhile, Arrouti SHO Ashfaq Gujjar held talks with the SDO and assured him of soon arresting all accused. أكثر...
