Rahat awarded Oxford’s Lifetime Achievement Shield

LONDON: Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been awarded Lifetime Achievement Ho**rary Shield by Britain’s Oxford University. In a tweet message, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said he was conferred upon Lifetime Achievement Ho**rary Shield by the Oxford University. In recognition of his artistic services and contribution to music, the prestigious university ho**ured him with the shield. During the ceremony, the singer also performed with Oxford University’s Fusion Project students. Attendees from across the globe praised Rahat for his outclass skills. While sharing the pictures on social media, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan paid tribute to his mentor Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.



Kirmani urges world to take **tice

of India’s violence against Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani urged the international community and the United Nations to take **tice of the atrocities committed by Indian forces against the in**cent unarmed and oppressed Kashmiris. In a statement here on Wednesday, he said the precious blood of Kashmiri brothers will **t go waste. He said resolution of the Kashmir issue according to aspirations of Kashmiri people is basic part of manifesto of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). Resolving the Kashmir issue while keeping in view desires of Kashmiri people would help bring peace in the region, he added. He said “We are with our Kashmiri brothers and will continue extending our moral, political and diplomatic support to them.”



Chinese envoy grieved over Edhi’s demise

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong on Wednesday visited the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan to extend deep grief over the demise of Abdus Sattar Edhi, a respected Pakistani philanthropist, social activist and founder of Edhi Foundation and express sincere condolences to his family. Ambassador Sun Weidong wrote a message on the condolence book, “Mr. Edhi will be remembered forever for his great contributions to humanitarian activities.”



CCTV cameras to check traffic in Lahore

LAHORE: Chief Operating ******r Punjab Safe Cities Akbar Nasir Khan has said CCTV cameras are being installed at The Mall Road in the first phase to check traffic violations under automatic system. The violations will be captured automatically and to implement the plan, *****down against illegal number plates has been launched by the traffic police, district police and excise and taxation department.
