BANNU: A Heavy rain coupled with gusty winds uprooted the tents of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of **rth Waziristan in the Bakakhel camp. The roofs and boundary walls of various houses, including that of Government Postgraduate College, Government Girls’ Primary School in Kotka and roofs of several houses in various areas caved in due to the Heavy downpour.
The rainwater entered shops and houses due to the faulty drainage system and damaged electrical appliances and home appliances.
DERA ISLAMIL KHAN: rain coupled with strong winds disrupted the communication system in the district. The roofs and boundary walls of various houses collapsed and signboards and trees were uprooted by the strong winds that were blowing at the speed of 133 kilometers per hour.
Dera city and surrounding localities received up to 32 millimeters of rain, the Met ****** said.Various parts of the district were plunged into darkness as the winds uprooted several power pylons while several feeders also tripped. Landline telephones also went silent as rainwater poured into streets, causing severe hardships to locals.
